Fodder for a podcast here, indeed. I have similar feelings when I look at pictures from remote places around the world where everyone is wearing a ragged T-shirt.

Funny how what is universally adopted is often the most uninteresting. I suppose that’s often because what’s universal is uninteresting but, as you say, also because western styles have crushed what lay in their path.
